An online Deferred Care Cost Payment Calculator, developed in partnership with the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and four local authorities, helps citizens understand their eligibility for deferred payment agreements to cover care costs without needing to sell their homes, utilising Open APIs to integrate factors like maximum interest rates.
The DPA Calculator will allow councils to:
- Provide 24/7 access for users to determine their entitlement on any device with a mobile-first design.
- Offer clear graphical representations of potential awards, simplifying complex information for users.
- Enable users to visualise the impact of changing circumstances with easy-to-use sliders.
- Automatically send email receipts of calculations to users and collect feedback on the service.
